Our Assistant Principal

Dear Enfield Middle S.T.E.A.M. Academy Families,

It is with great excitement and heartfelt gratitude that I introduce myself as your new Assistant Principal. My name is Mrs. Sanchia Palmer-Dewar, and I am honored to continue serving this incredible school community in a new capacity.

Many of you may already know me as the 6th-grade math teacher from last school year. It was a joy getting to know our students and partnering with families to support their academic growth. I am excited to continue building on those relationships while serving our entire school community as Assistant Principal. For those I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting, I look forward to getting to know you and working together to make this an exceptional school year.

With over 26 years of experience in education, I have been blessed to dedicate my career to helping students learn, grow, and reach their fullest potential. I began my teaching career in my home country of Jamaica, where I taught for 14 years before moving to the United States in 2014. Since then, I have continued my educational journey in North Carolina, serving in a variety of roles that have strengthened my passion for instructional excellence, student achievement, and educational leadership.

I firmly believe that every child has the ability to succeed when surrounded by caring educators, supportive families, and a positive school environment. As Assistant Principal, my mission is to help cultivate a school culture where every student feels safe, respected, valued, and inspired to achieve excellence. I am committed to supporting our teachers, partnering with families, and ensuring that every decision we make is centered on what is best for our students.

To our students, I encourage you to dream big, work hard, show kindness, and always strive to be your very best. Know that I am here to support, encourage, and celebrate your successes along the way.

To our parents and guardians, thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. Your partnership is one of the greatest contributors to student success, and I look forward to working alongside you throughout the school year. Together, we can create meaningful learning experiences and provide every child with the opportunities they need to thrive.

As we begin this new school year, I am excited about the opportunities ahead and confident that together we will continue to build a school where excellence, respect, collaboration, and a love of learning are evident every day.
